The city of Toronto has scheduled its annual repairs for Gardiner Expressway for this weekend. The initial idea was to close the expressway a few weeks earlier but due to the weather conditions, the plan had to be rescheduled for the upcoming weekend.
Since the expressway was first opened around 60 years ago, it became crucial to the city and its infrastructure, hence it is important to keep the highway well maintained.
Currently, the Gardiner Expressway is expected to close from Friday, July 9th, 11 p.m. to Monday, July 12th, 5 a.m. The road will be fully shut down and traffic-free in both directions from the Don Valley Parkway/Carlaw Avenue and Highway 427/QEW.
