Canada’s Drag Race to Premiere July 2
June is Pride Month here in Toronto and around the world, and with COVID-19 having shut down most of the live events in the city, people are looking to celebrate in other ways. Social meetups, trivia games, and most famously, drag shows, have taken to online platforms as a safety measure for gatherings. Now we can add a new summer obsession to these activities, because on Thursday, July 2nd, the brand new first season of Canada’s Drag Race will begin airing on Crave and OuTV. Judges will include actor Jeffery Bowyer- Chapman (of UnREAL fame), model Stacey McKenzie, and RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11 Alumni, Toronto’s very own Brook Lynn Hytes. The premiere season of Canada’s Drag Race will feature 12 queens from all over the country, 7 of which hail from the GTA. Canada’s Drag Race will follow the American franchise closely and will include plenty of forward fashion, comedy, and fan favourite competitions including the popular “Snatch Game”. The queens will be competing for $100,000 and the title of Canada’s first “Drag Race Superstar”. The crowning of a Canadian drag queen is long overdue, so we can’t wait to see who comes out on top. Slay, Canada!
