The 189th Anniversary Festival in March 2023 will officially go off thanks to Celebrate Toronto.

The non-profit organisation encourages the public to explore and celebrate Toronto’s arts, culture, and diversity throughout two full weeks of programming in various locations across the city in March.

On Monday, March 6, the 189th anniversary of the city will be celebrated at Nathan Phillips Square with the annual launch of Celebrate Toronto. In addition to headlining performances by Juno Award winners Glenn Lewis and Savannah Ré, the event will also feature local vendors, food trucks, skating, and a licenced warming lounge.

The Rivoli, a renowned venue, will offer comedy nights, curated art exhibitions, and live music as part of Celebrate Toronto’s expanded programming. The Starlight area at El Mocambo will be transformed into a recreation of the Toronto dance scene of the 1990s.

The Toronto Made Market, which will include 70 small enterprises, will be held in the prestigious Daniels Spectrum location.

The formal opening of Ascent Gallery, which will have a display with a Toronto theme, and a special 65th anniversary celebration of the Historic Silver Dollar Room, which will feature a weekend of jazz music from the 1950s and 1960s, will both take place as part of Celebrate Toronto.
