Two Toronto men, Marc Abesdris and Evan Mintz, came up with a brilliant idea to help the homeless during a time where less people are on the street donating their spare change.
The pair decided to start a GoFundMe campaign to encourage people to donate small amounts of money, in the hopes that with enough donations, they could raise enough money to make a positive impact.
The campaign has since raised over $5,000, and that number is growing. The money has been used to buy gift cards to Tim Hortons and Shoppers Drug Mart that they will distribute to the homeless population. The two have already gone to Trinity Bellwoods Park to do just that.
So far they have given out over 70 gift cards, with the ultimate goal to raise $12,000.
