On Sunday, the Toronto St. Patrick’s Parade will take over a section of the downtown area, capping off a weekend-long celebration of everything Irish.
The procession is scheduled to start at noon at the intersection of St. George and Bloor Street West and travel east before turning south on Yonge Street and then north on Queen Street before coming to a finish around an hour and a half later in Nathan Phillips Square.
The parade’s Grand Marshal this year is Toronto Raptors announcer Jack Armstrong.
Dress for a wind chill of -10 on Sunday if you intend to watch the procession in person.
To help people get to the event, the TTC said subway service on Lines 1 and 2 will be expanded. From the St. George, Museum, Bloor-Yonge, Wellesley, College, Dundas, and Queen stations, riders can access the parade route.
Numerous surface routes will be changed while the parade is taking place:
94 Wellesley, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. 501 Queen, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. 13 Avenue Rd, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During parade pauses, the 19 Bay, 505 Dundas, and 506 Carlton TTC buses will run, however passengers should expect longer than usual travel and wait times on all these routes.
