CafeTo Program Allowing Restaurants To Begin Applying For Outdoor Seating
As the warm weather is slowly but surely approaching, restaurants in Toronto can now apply for the CafeTo program, which allows restaurants temporary patio seating on sidewalks and curb lanes. The application process has begun earlier this year in comparison to last year, in hopes that restaurants that apply before March 25th can have their outdoor seating set up for May 24 weekend. As the hospitality industry was especially hard hit during the pandemic, this offers some hope to business owners and restaurant goers alike. Many restaurants last summer benefited greatly from this program, allowing more guests and driving extra revenue. As the province has already lifted restrictions on indoor and outdoor seating in many regions across Ontario, and hopefully Toronto is not far behind.
