Toronto strip club on Yonge Street will host a vaccination clinic
Toronto’s different associations continue encouraging people to vaccinate and it seems like the entire city is working on fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. On 4th of June, Friday, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. a Toronto Strip Club, Zanzibar Tavern at Yonge Street, will turn into a temporary vaccination clinic to help sex workers and exotic dancers get their vaccine safely.
Self-billed Maggie’s Toronto Sex Workers Action Project, which is run by and for sex workers, is holding a temporary community clinic in a strip club at 359 Yonge Street. The club was picked based on its ideal central location, which is easy to access from different parts of the city.
No identification, proofs of address, appointments, and other documents are required.
On Tuesday, Maggie’s reminded in their statement, that exotic dancers got affected by the pandemic equally as much as any other businesses, as they remained closed since the beginning of the quarantine. Ade Kur, Maggie’s board member, commented on the initiative as necessary, highlighting that sex workers and exotic dancers require workplace protection, despite the government’s marginalizing attitude towards the profession.
